Essential oils for hair loss

What are essential oils for hair loss? and how to use it?

I'm a very healthy 32 years old female but I had severe hair loss problems. I've lost 3/4 of my hair over the last 4 years. My doctors had no idea why. Some named it telogen effluvium some others alopecia.

My hair test results came out perfectly fine but my hair loss was very severe. I believe it was all stress related because a year before this problem I had moved to another country and it was a very stressful indeed.

My hair loss suddenly stopped several months ago. I hadn't changed my diet or done anything different. I'm left with a pinch of hair after all.

I will definitely try the essential oil blend that is recommended for hair growth. I know how often I should apply it but I'm not sure for how many months I need to apply this blend into my scalp. I would very much appreciate your recommendations.

Help for Female Hair Loss
by: Anonymous

Hello Ayse:

The type of hair loss you describe sounds like chronic telogen effluvium. Telogen effluvium causes excessive shedding. It is not uncommon for telogen effluvium to begin after a major life change such as a move. Anything that the body views as a disturbance can trigger this type of hair loss.

When the body adjusts to the change (or the imbalance is corrected), the hair growth cycle usually returns to normal. If this doesn't happen quickly or if other factors are involved (nutritional deficiency, stress, illness, allergens, exposure to toxins, vaccination, medication, infection etc) telogen effluvium may become chronic and long-lasting.

Many women with chronic telogen effluvium have low ferritin levels so it may be a good idea to get that checked.

Essential oil scalp massage can have a profound effect on stimulating new hair growth and restoring the hair growth cycle. It usually takes at least 3-6 months to see noticeable changes.

Many people can feel the invigorating yet soothing effects of the essential oils after they are massaged into the scalp. The formula should be as potent as possible (within safety guidelines.) Customizing the formula to your specific scalp/hair conditions can make it more effective. The good news is that most cases of female hair loss can be improved as long as the follicles are alive and undamaged.

Sincerely

Thank You

Thank You Melani.

I also do a search about Ayse's condition and have found several.

This one is your blends recipe for basic treatment. Mix 2 teaspoons of jojoba oil with 9 drops of rosemary essential oils and 6 drops lavender oils. Massage this through your scalp and leave overnight. Rinse with hot and cold water

But I found this instructions is for alopecia aerata. I'm not sure if this one can be used in Ayse's condition.

The other one is the recipes from Roberta Wilson through her book "Aromatherapy".

Scalp stimulating formula for hair growth:
Blend 1 ounce of jojoba oil with 3 drops clary sage, 2 drops of cedarwood and 1 drop of rosemary. Mix the blend and massage through your scalp and leave it for 30 min or overnight then shampoo as usual.
